Every year, International Women’s Day offers the world a moment to pause, reflect, and celebrate the women whose work, courage, and resilience shape our communities. This year, one of the standout honourees is Amb. (Chief) Hassiat Ozavize Suleiman, Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor on Strategic Investment and Liaison with Federal Agencies—an accomplished leader whose story continues to inspire women across Nigeria.

On March 4, at the Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development in Abuja, Amb. Hassiat was honoured by the Concerned Mothers in the Niger Delta and Nigeria (COMIND). The recognition came during the organisation’s Annual Summit, an event dedicated to spotlighting women who embody excellence, leadership, and service.

A Recognition Built on Impact

COMIND’s decision to honour Amb. Hassiat was rooted in her track record of professionalism and her commitment to community upliftment. Her work in strengthening strategic partnerships and driving investment opportunities for Kogi State has earned her respect across sectors. According to the organisation, her nomination reflects values that align strongly with COMIND’s mission—service, excellence, and dedication to humanity.

A Moment of Gratitude and Renewed Purpose

In her remarks, Amb. Hassiat expressed deep appreciation for the recognition, describing it as both an honour and a call to greater responsibility. She pledged to extend her efforts beyond Kogi State, reaching communities across Nigeria with initiatives that empower women, youths, and families.

Her message to the audience—especially young women—was powerful. She encouraged them to remain resilient, purposeful, and committed to personal growth. Drawing from her own journey, she reminded them that challenges are not barriers but stepping stones to greatness.

A Voice for Women, A Model for the Next Generation

Amb. Hassiat also commended COMIND’s Founder and National President, Dr. Veronica Ogosi, for creating a platform that recognises women’s contributions in meaningful ways. She noted that being appreciated for one’s life journey—despite its ups and downs—is a reward that fuels even greater service.

Her influence continues to resonate from Kogi State to the Niger Delta and beyond. For many young professionals and aspiring female leaders, she represents what is possible when passion meets purpose.

A Celebration Beyond an Award

This honour is more than a plaque or a title—it is a celebration of a woman whose work is touching lives, opening doors, and inspiring a new generation of leaders. As Nigeria marks another International Women’s Day, Amb. Hassiat’s story stands as a reminder that leadership is not about position, but about impact.

Her journey continues, and so does her commitment to building a better, more inclusive society.
